The adventures of the Fromagerie Polyethnique began in 1992 with a meeting between Lebanese traders from Montreal and a group of producers from the region. Incorporated in 1993, the Fromagerie officially opened at the intersection of Chemin Saint-Robert and Montée Sainte-Victoire, in Saint-Robert. The first shovel of earth was made in June 1994, and the plant became operational in January 1995, when it started its activities by receiving a first delivery of milk. The first sale of cheese is recorded in July 1995.
Today, the Fromagerie, which has a total surface area of 36,000 square feet and provides work for nearly 40 people, always ensures that it respects its mission by offering the same quality products to ethnic communities. These products are shipped primarily to the Montreal and Toronto markets, but also to Calgary and Vancouver. The products of La Fromagerie Polyethnique are known under several brands such as The Bedouin, Phenicia and Cedar.
