Sota Mori of Sota Mori Guitars was born in Sendai, Japan, and raised in Calgary, AB, Canada. Upon completing his studies at the Summit School of Guitar Building and Repair in 2015, he apprenticed and taught alongside Instructor Sigmund Johannessen up until May, 2018. Currently, Sota lives in St.Albert, AB, and is building one of a kind, hand crafted instruments.
Sota builds guitars/ stringed instruments as an extension of himself. He respects the tradition of classical woodworking and instrument building techniques and merges what he perceives as beautiful, natural shapes and graceful lines.
