| Kristen’s Homemade Preserves has been producing jams, jellies and preserves since 2006. We have been a member of the Saskatoon Community Farmer’s Market since 2007 and the Saskatoon Farmer’s Market since 2012. We use traditional canning techniques “Just Like Grandma Made it!” offering both traditional and original recipes that are a treat to experience.
With more than 60 varieties available there is something for every taste. Specialty items are available to meet unique dietary needs including sugar free and seed free options All products use real fruit or vegetables with no fillers for that real HOMEMADE TASTE. Kristen’s Homemade Preserves started as a home-based business driven out of a love of cooking and a desire to accomplish a personal goal. Now, Kristen operates out of a District Health approved facility using traditional canning and preserving techniques and has developed many original recipes. Kristen shows initiative and has demonstrated perseverance and the ability to work hard. As a young entrepreneur Kristen preserves and shares traditional values and craftsmanship with her customers. The Brantview Apples & Cider orchard has been in production for almost 200 years, harvesting the land and supplying quality apples, cider and baked goods. Today we operate in making the best tasting apples, with up to 20 varieties a season we are confident that you will find your favourite! In addition to the apples, visiting customers will enjoy a tractor ride through our orchard, be able to pick their own apples and even have a chance to find their way out of our 8-acre corn maze. | At Millers By-Gone Farm we raise cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and chickens and grow different kinds of produce, grain and forage. Our farm is reminiscent of farms from an era long gone, where you raised everything you ate, you cared for your animals, and you did it without saturating the ground with chemicals. Except for a few supplies, all of the products that we sell are grown or made on this farm.
We are not a certified organic farm. We try to raise our animals and produce as naturally as possible, using no chemicals, antibiotics or hormones. We care for our animals and the environment. Our animals live on grass as long as weather permits, and the chickens are free range. We believe this makes great tasting meat and vegetables. When you buy local you are guaranteed a fresh product. Actons Lower Shannon Farms has been around for 90+ years. When Robin met John he had recently moved to Canada from Dublin, Ireland and was working as a dairy inspector with big plans and big dreams. Unsure of his long term plans and whether he would continue on to New Zealand; he met Robin, got married, had 3 children and stayed in Canada! Today they boast a 16000 square foot greenhouse that runs 365 days a year. They raise free range cattle, sheep, chickens, laying hens (free run eggs!), goats, and turkeys. They make jams, jellies, pickles and more for all to enjoy! They are so incredibly proud to employ some of the most incredible and dedicated local farmers and partner with some pretty cool local food businesses that share their vision.
