| The Boivin cheese factory is a family business founded in 1939 by Bernadette, Noël, Herman, Patrick, Antonio Boivin and their mother Marie Bluteau . They then acquire the cheese factory which belongs to their cousin Joseph Boivin , cheese inspector and great master cheese maker. At the time, the cheese dairy was used to process surplus milk from the family farm and from surrounding farms. The market at the time was aging cheddar for export markets. The first Saguenay Lac St-Jean cheese factory was built on Chemin St-Joseph de la Baie and the current cheese factory has its origins. | Old School Cheesery is located just south of Vermilion on Buffalo Coulee Road (TWP Road 482 West) on a small acreage beside the Buffalo Coulee community hall. Our farm sits on a 9 acres lot well divided with a beautiful red barn and a Quonset which we converted into our cheesery. We purchase our cow milk through Alberta Milk, supporting local dairy producers. | Foxhill Cheese House has been producing milk for six generations in the lush Annapolis Valley. During the 1960’s more focus was given to dairy production. I remember my father, Hugh, and grandfather, Horace, telling me about delivering milk door to door by horse and wagon to the Port Williams community and supplying Acadia University in Wolfville. Many things have changed since that time and we are proud to continue to produce quality, fresh milk. Since 2004 this milk has been used to make Foxhill cheese, yogurt, and gelato. Today, we also process pasteurized, non homogenized milk in glass bottles, the only facility in Atlantic Canada providing this specialty milk product. Jensen Limited, is a family-run business operating in Southwestern Ontario with a second location in Eastern Ontario that operates under the name of The Wilton Cheese Factory. The Jensen family takes pride in offering quality artisanal products and friendly services since 1925.
