The Annapolis Royal Farmers Market was first envisioned in 1976 by a handful of local farmers with a surplus of crops. 40+ years later, this market is the largest outdoor market in the province with over 100 vendors. We are so thrilled that this vibrant community hub has recently joined our co-operative. Make sure to follow them online to see their wide range of offerings!
Our Market Square is located in the heart of town across from King’s Theatre. History and culture are important aspects of life in Annapolis Royal and its global reputation. The ARFTM acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi’kmaq, Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet), and Passamaquoddy Peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1726. The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources but in fact recognized Mi’kmaq and Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet) title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.
