Benjamin Bridge is a women-led, family-run winery nestled in Nova Scotia’s Gaspereau Valley and recognized as Canada’s premier sparkling wine house. Since 1999, it has been a trailblazing force in Canadian winemaking, dedicated to sustainability, community, and innovation. Founded by Gerry McConnell and the late Dara Gordon, the winery began as a labour of love rooted in a shared commitment to rural living and the belief that world-class wines could be crafted along the Bay of Fundy.
Now led by Gerry and Dara’s twin daughters, Ashley and Devon McConnell-Gordon, Benjamin Bridge continues to innovate with integrity, inclusivity, and a deep respect for the land. As stewards of vineyards located on the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq First Nations, the team is committed to thoughtful, sustainable farming practices and producing wines that consistently push boundaries—from their iconic Nova 7 to groundbreaking fermented-in-can sparkling wines. In early 2024, Benjamin Bridge became a Certified B Corporation, joining a global community of businesses using their platform as a force for good.
In March 2025, the Murphy Hospitality Group (MHG) became an equal equity partner in Benjamin Bridge. Like Gerry and Dara, MHG began as a labour of love founded by Kevin and Kathy Murphy, and today, it is led by the second generation, with their son Ben Murphy serving as CEO. MHG has become a driving force in the Maritimes, recognized as an iconic leader in hospitality and crafted beverages.
