Dandy Dan’s

Dandy Dan’s is located in Ship Harbour, Placentia Bay, NL which is located on the Avalon Peninsula. Ship Harbour has a population of less than 100 residents and it is also the home of The Atlantic Charter. We started in 1990 when the owner would go door to door selling fish to the local residents of Placentia Bay and the surrounding areas.

In 1991, Dandy Dan’s was issued a Retail Province In Processing License. In 2020 a license was issued for groundfish, pelagic and other species for national and international markets followed by the issuance of a snow crab license in 2021 for 1 million pounds.

In 2022, the snow crab license was increased to 2 million pounds. For the past 30 years, we have been buying fresh local seafood daily from local fish harvesters when available and employing local residents.
