Hawthorne Hill Farm – Professional couple, Paul – Pharmacist, and Marilyn – Veterinarian, love farming on our 50 acre property in the heart of the agricultural district in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Our farm is located in Kings County on the base of the North Mountain in the community of Grafton, just north of Waterville. In 2017, our farm was the first in Kings County to have a Conservation Easement placed on it by the Annapolis Valley Farm Land Trust Society.
We grow a wide variety of market garden vegetables, including a large crop of hardneck garlic, plus berry fruits including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, haskaps, grapes, blackberries, currants and gooseberries using organic standards. We also have a small orchard of apple, pear and plum trees that will be producing for the first time this season. A herd of Shetland sheep (for wool) and a flock of free-range heritage hens decorate our lawns and fields. We sell our farm products at two local farmers’ markets each week.
