Joggins Mud – Two weeks after selling my therapeutic pillow company; Cumberland Perfect Sleep, a friend told me he thought he’d have to give up his career as a professional saxophone player – his hands were painful, swollen and locking. Having time on my hands, a background in oils and natural products, and loving a challenge, I thought “I’ll fix that!” Weeks of scouring studies and books until the wee hours of the morning went by, and I finally had a finished product.
I shipped it to him and he LOVED it – it was the only thing that helped him. “You need to sell this!” he said. Nah…!! It was just for fun… but I was hooked on creating products and quickly realized that I was solving problems for people with my products. Thus, one bottle and jar at a time, Joggins Mud was born – named so, because I lived in Joggins, and the curative Dead Sea Mud that was in a lot of our products reminded me of the mud of the Bay of Fundy near my home.
