Rustic Canadian Flags – Having moved to Port Dover on the shores of Lake Erie, my neighbor introduced me to tobacco slats. These unique pieces of wood were used in the drying process of tobacco leaves until the early 1970’s. Lucky for me that I met a local farmer who liked that I was re-purposing them into Canada flags and signs. Most of these slats were used as kindling over the years. They are hard to find now.
With having a local, reasonably priced, source of wood I have enjoyed selling and promoting Canada from coast to coast.
It is exciting to receive 5 star reviews and photos of my crafts displayed proudly. One of my personal highlights is that one of my donated flags is permanently displayed in our local public library. I am proud to be part of the Port Dover, Ontario, Canada community, cheers!
