Seams to be Sewn – Before the Covid pandemic, I was a retired Federal Public Servant running a very successful bespoke cake business. Covid isolation shut down my bakery, but I needed to keep busy. I started with making masks for my family and friends, and soon was taking commissions for military units in the town we were living in. Then came the requests from the local nurses for scrub caps. One thing led to another, and I was creating many custom items for a vast clientele. Then my husband got the dreaded “posting message”, and we were off to a new city.
Now I do local alterations and repairs, create custom items (including clothing), and spend my “spare” time creating items for you and your pets! The catnip I use for my cat toys is grown by me using organic practices, that started with non-GMO seeds in 2007. Every year I harvest seeds to use the next season. The dog toys and bandannas I create have been tested with my own Boxer and Boston Terrier. I try to support Canadian Small Business as much as possible when procuring goods. I also try to utilize every scrap and thread in my workspace … from patchwork items to stuffings, I can use almost everything!
