SunnyCider was born and raised in Sunnyside, Calgary, Alberta by a group of forward thinking neighbours. They gathered together one fall, 2013, to try and figure out what to do with all the neighbourhood apples. Apple sauce, apple pies, apple juice, dehydrated apples and finally apple cider was the final product.
While we do source much of our apple juice from the Okanagan, we still manage to get at least 10-20% of our production juice from Calgary back yards. Calgary is our orchard after all. Every fall we call out to Calgarians for all their apples, pears and berries to help us integrate as much local fruit into our cider as possible. Calgary is our orchard!
