Thompson’s Woodcraft – The making of these bowls, each of which is unique, is a long process. It starts with a hardwood log which Wilfred splits vertically then cuts into the approximate shapes. He turns the bowl a first time on the lathe while still green. Then it is left to dry for approximately six months. Once the drying process is complete, he proceeds with the final shaping of the bowl on the lathe. The product is then finished with oils or sprays. After that, it is placed in his attractive showroom at the front of the shop which is located in North Bedeque, Prince Edward Island.
