Wekusko Wild – Despite being born and raised in a city, the boreal forests of the north are my happy place and where my soul is calm. My parents instilled an early love of the Canadian wilderness – camping, fishing, and experiencing the wonders of the boreal, and passed on a deep connection to the forest from their Germanic-Russian heritage. This strong foundation guided me to pursue that passion as a career, and 20+ years later I am still a practicing professional biologist with a research-based Master of Science degree in botany.
I have been able to live and work in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the NWT and Nunavut, and with each new location, an opportunity to explore botanicals and their therapeutic benefits. Wekusko Wild is me – just me, and that’s how it will stay. There is a place for the big guys in the skincare world, and there is also an equally important place for the small artisanal businesses like mine.
I craft in microbatches which allows for unparalleled and uncompromising quality control. I personally formulate, create, package, and inspect every product.
