At PEI Coastline Shellfish the W & R Fisheries Ltd. family has been involved in the fishery in Atlantic Canada all our lives. We were incorporated in 1980 while fishing for ground fish in the Gulf of St Lawrence. In the mid 80’s we diversified our business, becoming an independent buyer of groundfish and pelagic fish in Atlantic Canada. We still operate as an independent fish buyer purchasing herring, mackerel, silversides as well as lobster bait for local seafood buyers. Our plant is located on the Georgetown Port facility in the center of historic Three Rivers (Brudenell, Cardigan, Montague,) in Kings County. This river system produces some of the highest quality mussels on the Island. Our location is in the center of the richest soft-shell and bar clam beds in Atlantic Canada. Our clam diggers land their clams on the beach which is within a 5 minute walk of our receiving area. | The name “Little Shemogue Oyster Company” is a tribute to the picturesque Little Shemogue Bay, where our oyster farming journey began. What started as a hobby for Wayne Williams and his brother in the 1990s transformed into a full-fledged venture. In 2015, the Williams family decided to combine their efforts and officially established the Little Shemogue Oyster Company.
